Cute Houseplants That Easy To Grow in Water

Homiful.com -- Gardening can be a great way to spend your free time. If you're a beginner, there's no need to worry. You can start from the following "Cute Houseplants That Are Easy To Grow in Water" below. Check it out!

Pancake Plant (Pilea peperomioides)

my_jungleroom

The pancake plant, also known as the Chinese money plant or coin plant due to its attractive coin-shaped foliage, is simple to care for and grow in water. Transfer an established plant with roots into a water-filled container, or take a stem cutting and immerse the newly cut stem in water.

After a few weeks, the stem will form roots. Once a month, give the plant houseplant or hydroponics fertilizer to replace the nutrients it is missing from soil or rainwater. Replace the water every two weeks, or sooner if it appears murky.

Paperwhite Narcissus (Narcissus papyraceus)

@longbushcottage

With their clusters of very fragrant, white blooms, paperwhites (Narcissus papyraceus) are popular indoor plants for winter. It's as simple as putting the bulbs in a water dish with some stones or marbles to anchor them to force them to bloom indoors.

Place the paperwhite bulbs on top of the stone layer, pointed end up. Fill in any gaps with another layer of stones, nearly covering the bulbs. The pointed tip of the bulbs should be visible. Tight spacing is okay. Paperwhites not only look better in groups, but the tight fit provides support and keeps them from falling over. They will bloom for about a week before dying.

Baby's Tears (Soleirolia soleirolii)

@homey.plant

Baby's tears plants have a plethora of tiny leaves that form a dense yet delicate trailing mat. Pinch off a cluster of stems, roots or no roots, and observe how easily this plant adapts to growing in water.

Because baby's tears plants have so many leaves growing along their stems, submerged leaves may rot. Change the water once a week to remove any floating leaves, and allow the water level to fall once the roots have formed.

African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha)

@good_witch_creations

Growing African violet leaves in water is a common method for producing a clone of the parent plant. Some multicolor violets, on the other hand, will produce plants with solid color flowers. To begin new plants, select young, healthy African violet leaves.

Remove about two inches of stem from the leaf and place it in a narrow-necked bottle to keep it suspended and dry. It takes about a month for roots to form. Over time, a tiny plantlet with its own crown will emerge.

Aluminum Plant (Pilea cadierei)

@elsa_plant_lady

Pilea cadierei, also known as the aluminum plant or watermelon pilea, is a flowering plant native to Asia that belongs to the nettle family. Transfer an established plant with roots into a water-filled container, or take a stem cutting and immerse the newly cut stem in water.

After a few weeks, the stem will form roots. Feed the plant hydroponic fertilizer once a month to replace the nutrients it is missing from soil or rainwater. Replace the water every two weeks, or sooner if it appears murky.

English Ivy (Hedera helix)

@centeredplants

English ivy is a climbing vine that is an invasive species that can grow almost anywhere (and in many ways). It is highly valued for its evergreen leaves. Ivy plant cuttings root easily in water, and it usually takes two to three weeks for roots to appear. Remove any bottom leaves and store in a jar on a well-lit window sill.
