It is one of the best hardy and drought-tolerant plants. Even so, snake plants are not sacred plants. These plants have common problem that interfere with their growth. Mushy Roots

The most common problem faced by snake plants is overwatering. The over-watering cause the roots to become mushy and rot. The roots can also brown and mushy due to fungal attack. 

Avoid that by placing it in a pot with adequate drainage holes. Make sure they don't sit in the water for too long. If the roots are mushy, trim all affected areas and repot them in quality potting soil.

Dried leaves on snake plant


Healthy snake plant leaves will grow upright with a fresh green color according to the type of variety. However, at some time, some parts of the leaves can appear dry. This can happen, when the plant is too dehydrated, the leaves will dry up and turn yellow. Give it the watering it needs. Then, trim the dry and dead part of the leaves with follow-up inspection. You need to do the division of leaves that are still healthy to become a new plant.

Fungal or pest infestation


White areas on the surface of snake plant's leaves is sign of your snake plant may get fungus infection. The leaves will turn brown and wither, as the fungus breaks down the leaf tissue. Give the snake plants neem oil at morning or evening to get rid of fungus on snake plants. Don't give it in the afternoon, as the neem oil and sunlight can burn the leaves. 

Curling and folding leaves


A healthy snake plant has strong, upright leaves. However, if this hardy plant suddenly bends or curling its leaves, there may be something wrong. This can happen due to too much sun exposure, under or over watering. Prevent too much sun expose by placing it in an ideal spot and ideal watering schedule. It would be better if you take this plant in indirect sunlight.  

Brown tips


Some types of sansevieria do have a unique tip. However, this is not all. Some have experienced tips that turn brown. This condition occurs due to various reasons, from too much fertilizer, ice water or frost exposure, extreme hot temperature and other. 

For the extreme temperature, you can move the plant to a spot with indirect light if the sunnier spot make the unhealthy. Give the fertilizer without the need for excessive and on schedule, in order to provide proper nutrition to plants.

Yellow and mushy leaves


Some type of sansevieria have a variety of leaves with a yellowish green color. However, if the yellow is too striking with the mushy leaves, it could be a sign of overwatering.
